Doesn't the book of Job show that Satan tricked God?

To me, the book of Job shows how Satan came to God and tricked God into letting Satan torment his most faithful follower--Satan killed all of Jobs many children, Job lost all his possessions and friends, and his health deteriorated. And he did all this with God's approval. Why? There was absolutely no reason, except that God cared what Satan thought of him. Kind of egocentric, huh? Why would God give two hoots what Satan thought? And why would he be so easily fooled? Yeah, yeah, christians will point to this story as a roadmap on how to deal with adversity, because, well, in the end God blessed Job didn't he? Yup, try telling me that giving Job more children erased the heartache of losing all his others. Good one, God.
