Nonliving microscopic particles made up of either a DNA or RNA core, covered by a protein coat are called?
viruses of course, since viruses are not yet considered a non living particle and can only have one of the two types of nucleic acid, DNA or RNA. They could be single stranded or double stranded in terms of type of nucleic acid as well. They are considered non-living because of one of its characteristic, being an obligate parasite, where in they can only reproduce themselves inside their host. Lastly, they [viruses] do have a capsule made up of proteins that coats the whole viral particle.
