How is UCONN?

iam a juniour in high school and my parents are pushing me to look at colleges already.I am in an agriculture program in my school currently studying animal science.I love animals and hope to some day be a vetenarian.I don't wnat to go to a college to far from new york where i live.I heard that the university of conneticut[UCONN] has a great agriculture programand it is only two hours away.One of the animal science teachers in my school went there.She loved it.I want to get more opinions before i go deep into it.
