My Ares won't connect to my computer?

I just installed the program Ares, you know, the music/video/internet..etc program. I installed it twice and tried restarting my computer both times. When I go to control panel on Ares, it has the connect/disconnect toolbar. When I hit connect, it only says connecting, it won't connect no matter how long you wait. Is there something I can do to make it connect?
