Is "personal relationship with jesus" even mentioned in the bible?

If you define "relationship" as "contact or communication with ", then presumably those people who pray and who believe that prayers are answered could be considered to have a relationship with Jesus. However, I am inclined to believe that this is an attempt to describe something beyond human understanding. The words used, therefore, are necessarily imprecise.
