Why is it that "eat right and exercise" doesn't seem to actually work?
you know they say that before you begin a diet and exercise plan you should see your doctor. If I were you I would go see a doctor because they can give you better insight to whats going on with your body and what you can do that will give you results and also be healthy for you. Don't give up, another tip I can give you is to do weights because when you gain muscle you lose fat and your body continues to burn fat after your done with your exercise plan for hours. Try weights and low intensity cardio that will not impact your joints so much.
