I need a print server. Do I have any other options beyond buying one?

If you attach the printer to your laptop directly you can print that way. If you want to print wirelessly, then buy a cheap HD (doesn't need to be very big) and reinstall Linux and share the printer that way - that would be the cheapest solution if you need to print wirelessly (you can find a used 8gig HD for dirt cheap and that's enough for Linux if you are just using it for printing)
